The Portrait Society of Atlanta is pleased to announce our first juried exhibition exclusively for “Portraits of the Animal Kingdom.” But don’t worry, while the focus is on animals you may still include people in the composition if desired.

About the Juror

Jennifer Gennari is a classically trained painter specializing in animal portraiture. She earned her BFA from the Ringling College of Art and Design in 2005 and continued her studies in classical realism at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, where she trained under Daniel Graves for three years.

Since 2014, Jennifer has devoted her practice to animal subjects, driven by a profound commitment to honoring and elevating the role animals play in our lives. As one of the first contemporary artists to focus exclusively on animals, she pioneered the use of the alla prima to depict animals with the same depth, dignity, and emotional resonance as human subjects.
